Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic comes from the Greek and literally means “done by hand.” Our doctors use manual methods to correct spine and joint issues, instead of drugs or surgery. Along with therapies and lifestyle changes, chiropractic allows the body’s natural state of health to fully express itself.
Techniques and Therapies
Here are some techniques we may include in your care plan:
- Deep Tissue Laser Therapy—Uses light therapy to promote healing and reduce pain.
- Manual Technique—Manual therapy is used to treat musculoskeletal pain. These include Diversified, Sacral-Occipital Technique (SOT), Activator and others.
- Thompson Drop-Table Technique—A gentle technique using a less powerful spinal adjustment, with slower, low-velocity movements.
- Myofascial release—These tough membranes are wrapped around your muscles to provide support and connect them to other parts of the body. When myofascial tissue becomes stiff, it may restrict movement in both the muscles and joints.
- Active Release Techniques—Damage to muscles and other soft tissues can produce rough, thick scar tissue. Scar tissue restricts the tissues from moving freely, as it binds them and ties them down.
- Corrective, Core, and Rehab Exercises—A strong Core reduces back pain, reduces chance of injury, improved athletic performance, improves postural imbalances. Dr Fitch will help you build a stronger, more stable core.
- Kinesiology Taping—K tape is specialized tape with unique features that help decrease pain and improve performance. This tape activates your body’s own pain relieving and healing mechanisms through the stimulation provided by wearing the tape.
- DOT physical exam for Commercial Drivers—The federal government requires anyone applying for or possessing a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) pass the DOT exam. The exam ensures that an applicant is fit and healthy enough to drive safely.
Chiropractors are trained to address subluxations, a misalignment or abnormal motion of the vertebrae in the spine. Chiropractic corrects the problem, relieving pressure and irritation on the nerves to restore joint mobility and function. Chiropractors are the only health professionals trained in the detection, location, and correction of subluxations.
